Where to Buy WRT54GL in Islamabad

guys where can i find the linksys WRT 54GL in islamabad i looked in a couple of shops in blue area they didnt have it

Yeah, if someone knows, mention the shop and the price, if possible.

WRT 54GC (not WRT 54GL) is available for PKR 3,850/- on beliscity at:

http://www.beliscity.com/networking_wireless_wireless_routers/c10_77_503/p2539/linksys_compact_wirelessg_broadband_router_wrt54gc/product_info.html

Hasn't Beliscity gone out of business?

They have an office in Blue Area. Dunno if they sell directly to end users.

stumbled across this looking for LCD monitors:

http://www.hayatcomputers.com/default.asp

there is a 'WRT54G' on the front page...site is not that impressive but they have a branch in Islamabad...

At PKR5400, it is expensive than that available at Beliscity... if Beliscity actually has it.

Ruhaan, do you still want it? I have sourced it but it will take about a month to arrive. it has 2 years limited warranty.

I will most likely be ordering WRT54GL so if you want it, do tell me well in time so I can tell the source to order more than one unit.

Asad to make it even more great install DD WRT on it it will be awesome it will bring alot of features to ur router

DD WRT? Not now. It is working fine for now. I might try it in the coming days.

However, why DD WRT? Why not Tomato or OpenWRT?

DD WRT has alot of features accordin to me at least but if u want u can install other firmwares as well

but DDWRT sepcifically coz it solves the torrent problem that the WRT54GL has read abt it here

http://www.utorrent.com/faq.php#Special_note_for_users_with_Linksys_WRT54G_GL_GS_routers

Good. Default firmware might have problems with P2P softwares. I already restarted the device once. I might have to upgrade to an OpenSource firmware sooner than I previously thought.

Does it specifies which particular Linksys firmware number has issues with torrents?

it does not specify that but it does say that linksys has not released a fix yet which could mean that the problem could persist in all the firmwares released by linksys for the WRT54GL

I will try either of the firmwares soon.

well asad i have WRT54GL that i have been using 24/7 since last 1 yr, flashed it with dd-wrt the first day i got it, but i dunno abt DD-WRT v24 final but uptil DD-WRT RC7 it use to get at times overloaded with torrents and stopped responding and i had to restart, but then i swtiched to tomato, and its been going gr8 never had ever reboot and restart it unless i while fiddling with setting do something bad....... with 5-6 torrents running simultaneously at fulll throttle not a whif out of fit, for DDWRT v24 final may be ruhaan can put some light on that
