More than 3,500 Pakistani soldiers and police have been killed since 2002 and the number increases with every passing day. 150,000 Pakistani troops are stuck in a stalemate fighting a witches’ brew of militants along the Afghan border. The number of attacks from homemade bombs throughout the country, but mostly focused in the border areas, skyrocketed to 1,036 through November this year, compared with 413 for all of 2007, according to the Pakistani military.
Somewhere or another, we have all read these stats. Let’s take a moment out of our lives right away to acknowledgment the sacrifice of those who have safeguarded our skin, our possessions and our integrity with their blood. STOP! AND SALUTE OUR MARTYRS.
By now, we all know the facts which have led to the present worsened circumstances (in terms of national defense only). Gradually, we have descended into a ditch of dilemmas. But it is only because of our soldiers, policemen, corps, armed forces, security personnel and other fighters that we can still enjoy a comfortable night of sleep and sanctity.
We owe the martyrs of Operation Al-Mizan, Operation Lal Masjid, Operation Rah-e-Rast, Operation Rah-e-Nijat, the recipients of Nishan-e-Haider and other dearly departed; our lives. The NATION salutes you all!!!
