Just got the following email from namecheap.com[quote=", post:, topic:"]
On July 1st, VeriSign will be raising the prices for all registrars for .COM and .NET domains. Unfortunately, this decision impacts us and all other domain name registrars, and as a result, we will be raising the cost of all .COM and .NET domains on that date to $9.98 plus $0.18 in ICANN fees. (which currently is $9.69 in total)
We highly encourage you to buy any domains you need or renew your domains before June 30, 2010 if you wish to add another year to your current expiration dates at the current low rate.
As always, you can get help from us immediately through Live Chat or by creating a support ticket, and you can get the latest NameCheap updates through Twitter and Facebook.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your support.
So do I, advise to renew any of your domains which are expiring in near future or just add another year to the expiring date of your domains before July to save a bit..
As of December 17, 2009 VeriSign announced..
The fee quoted above is just to VeriSign. There are other charges added and so the final cost varies from one registrar to the other one..
BTW, how many of you have got such an email from your caring registrars???
