Pakistani tech blogs are very mobile-industry-centric, nothing progressive about it.
You are absolutely right about the existing Pakistani tech blogs that they are a bit too much into mobile and telecom. Thus some of us go for international/US tech blogs or sites. But the questions is how should one keep oneself updated regarding the IT scene in Pakistan? I think that we need a website that covers
- new software and hardware products that are introduced in Pakistan;
- introduces mobile apps and desktop programs that are developed in Pakistan for the local and international markets;
- provides regular coverage on the job and freelance scene as well as IT degree programmes and courses, etc.
On a similar theme, one of the most popular programming Q&A websites is stackoverflow.com but sometime ago when I was searching for something about Urdu computing and Nastalique fonts, I didn’t find the answer there. A google search led me to a Pakistani Urdu forum which I found to be moderately active in all things related to Urdu fonts. The point is: we need Pakistan-specific content be it in the shape of blogs and news websites, or forums where IT walas and tech enthusiasts can discuss and learn from each other.
