Which processor for maya?

i want to buy new computer for 3D Rendering ,animation, so i

want to buy intel core i5 750 , what motherboard for this and how much it costs in Rs Lahore, which RAM for it and its price ,graphics card in range of 15,000 Rs.

ok i5 750 processor good choice.

i think you are not going to be overclocking the processor so get the intel mobo (DP55WB) costs RS9500 but if you are going to be overclocking your processor than get Asus P7P55D costs RS15200

Now coming to RAM get Corsair XMS3 DDR3 TwinKit costs RS12500

for graphics card i would suggest you to raise your budget by 900 & get HIS ATI 4870 costs RS15900

I hope that helps. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

thanks!

but can you tell me,any other good processor for maya 3d rendering

and is there any less costly RAM for core i5 ,iwant atleast 2 GB RAM but less cost ( is Kingston??)

thirdly u gave me good info of graphics card but just for info is there any less cost graphics card for maya software.

I think you should have at least have 4 GB ram to use a 64bit OS, believe me you will have a lot of comfort while working on lot of meshes or larger scenes. If you are not in overclocking then go with standard kingston rams. u should get nvidia instead of ATI. I think 260 is good. you can have some good deals on pakgamers. The reason why i am supporting nvidia is: its CUDA and physx technologies. by using physx plugins for max or maya you can use your GPU for physical simulations. there are rumors in market the upcoming version of vray will have a GPU CUDA supported renderer which will be 10x faster then the traditional CPU based rendering software. currently there are some softwares available that uses CUDA based GPU to process real time rendering. check this link

If you are not in hurry then you should wait for DX11 cards or buy just a GTS250 or 260 right now then after a year or so upgrade it.

Well regarding gpu i sure as hell don't know which would work better in maya the nvidia gpu's or ati's but from what i read on some boards is that 4870 works pretty well in maya on MAC OS. anyways someone else should comment on the gpu part.

Yup if you are not into overclocking then get kingston ddr3 ram costs less & will perform pretty much same as corsair but get 4gb ram no less (2*2gb modules)

If my info is correct there are no other quadcore i5's out there in the market, only dual core i5's & believe me i5 750 is a pretty good processor. Check some online reviews for your personal satisfaction.

i am not cleared of the graphics card,.........i mean which one is better for maya ,3dmax ...ati radeon or nvidia geforce , is'nt geforce for gaming??

how do u say nvidia GTS are better than ati radeon?? i am not clear on this and does ati doesnt hav cuda physx technology??

These both cards are for gaming & the cards used for 3d rendering are others but they are expensive!! (http://www.amd.com/us/products/workstation/graphics/ati-firepro-3d/Pages/ati-firepro-3d.aspx) & depends how much serious you are into 3d rendering.

I would still say go with 4870 cause after reading comments of people in some forums, they are satisfied with it.

As strierX mentioned the quadro are the real cards for 3d work but as they are so expensive, we have to stick with these gaming GPU. The CUDA and Physx are solely technology of nvidia. I think ATI has stream technology for the competition but i dont know so much about that.

I guess you should ask your questions in some 3d forum like.

www.cgexpanse.com

or

http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=23

or

http://www.3dmd.net/forum/3d-forum-20.html

or something like that

ok is only i GB graphics card required or 512 MB card be ok ?? if yes then is there any cheap Graphics card for maya which works best...........

is there any special pc case required for above system..........................how much do u think all above will cost .....75000 RS ( including lcd,mouse,key....,dvd,hard disk.....)

^Spend Rs15000 now and you wont need another for 3 years. The cheap ones wont be able to handle the stress if the textures are Hires

ok now i have switched my option to laptop for portability..............so someone suggest he best laptop under 50k for maya or 3d max

it may help you > http://forum.deviantart.com/hardware/general/1434903/

are you 3d modeller, vfx artist or animator?

i had nvdia's 7600gt it worked pretty good with 3gb ddr2 ram on intel dual core 2.5ghz

but sadly it fried dude to fan failure..

now i have researched alot and finally came up with nvidia's 9800gt or > 9600gt

9800gt is way powerful and it could easily handle +10million polygons with all lights & shaders applied.

otherwise i'd recommend you ati's open fire gl ;) it's just the bomb.

From this June , i will be doing a lot of 3D, graphics work and use softwares meant for that so i need a good system too. I currently have P4 3.2Ghz, 512MB RAM. I think my budget won't be more than 40k so here are specifications for a full system :

How is it for that purposes ?

it’s not so bad,you could get 4gb ddr3 ram,and atleast 500gb hdd

what about the graphic card?

Yar, i thought graphics card is included in this system but its not. :( I have to assemble PC from market by parts. Just need to know what specification to get. :)

oh,well i would suggest you to get 4gb ram whatever processor/motherboard you buy, because that's the major think while rendering.and on top of that

you need to have 64bit operating system as well.to get the fullest of your ram capabilities.

okay! Then i think Core2duo will do the job with any good ASUS motherboard eh?

yeah.that's what one of dealers suggested me to get a fully high fi core2duo than core2quad..

it can be exampled as..'2fastest old model cars vs 4 new slow cars' :D

just get a core i3, a good mobo and 4gb+ram !

i think it should solve all problems!

I made this combination : :)

e7500

P35 Mobo

4GB Ram

1,000 GB HDD

Right now, graphics card is pending because don't know much about graphics card and there is a time when i'll buy system so i am not thinking about graphics card now.
