Upload speed increased?

I have noticed that my DSL connection is now connecting with increased upload speed. Previously it was 1/3rd of the my connection speed but now it is just half. A friend of mine who is on 2Mb DSL is also now gettng almost 1Mb upload speed.

When I was on NTC connection, they provided upload speed equal to the download speed. I was on 1Mb there and got 1Mb upload speed as well. Lower upload speed has been the biggest nuisance since I had to shift to PTCL, but now it looks like things are improving here. :)

Any luck with the new workaround?

I'm getting the same as before, that is:

Line Rate - Upstream (Kbps): 1186

Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps): 4094

I thought so ;) .

Yes, nearing completion.

It seems PTCL hackers are onto you, increasing uploading speed to get more info from your system.

EDIT: Just ignore my comment, i am too paranoid.

And now, my 1Mb DSL is getting 2Mb connection speed. I think they are upgrading. Hope they don't increase the charges though. Or maybe it is a new promotional compaign?

Or they are just trying to get a fix on your location so that they can send there infantry.

I don't think PTCL offers more than 1Mb uplink on any of its DSL packages. I tested on 8 mb package with same uplink at at 4 mb or 2 mb package.

I have 9/1.37

Hello!

Since you have brought this 'dead' thread back to life ... I'll add my thoughts ... so for adsl connections, the maximum upload rate is determined by the modulation scheme (note that both your modem and the dslam must support this modulation) ... there is a nice table here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asymmetric_digital_subscriber_line#ADSL_standards

(pasted as plain text ... kindly refer to above link for a proper table)

Version Standard name Common name Downstream rate Upstream rate Approved in
