Unsigned drivers on Vist x64

#1

Is it right that unsigned drivers can not be installed on Vista x64? If yes, is there a workaround for this problem?

#2

I'm not sure if this still works, but try this in command prompt: (perhaps with admin elevation)

bcdedit -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

bcdedit /set nointegritychecks ON

You may or may not have to restart the PC. Few vista x64 updates have disabled this workaround, but since I haven't applied those updates, and I'm still using an old x64, it works for me.

Thanks Asad.

I have installed all other drivers, no problem. But I can't install my Intel modem's XP x64 driver on Vista.

So.. it's quite useless without internet for me at the moment.. :(

Specter, my previous System's Intel Modem refused to work with vista (vista said this model doesn't support vista or something, so may be urs the same).

it can be a pain in the back without a modem :) try some alternative, EDGE/DSL may be?

EDGE/DSL is not an option for me right now, but I’ll keep the Vista installation intact as I might be getting DSL in a month or so.
