ShoukaT will translate to 7468528 I think.

#6

Codes are Changing to Three Digits..

#7

charges?

#8

I don't understand why most of the pakistani ISPs cannot put up the relevant information online, before launching a new service.

#9

Ufone is a telco operator, not an ISP (at least, not in a primary capacity).

#10

Can someone explain what this is ?

True. Thank for the virtual correction; it’s a telco, MNO (mobile network operator), MNP, or just a cellular company. But the discussion of terms wasn’t my point.

What I said applies to most of the telephone companies in Pakistan.

Its very simple what is ur mobile number for eg

0345-2459254 now this number i can tell u as

0345-245waji (9254) simple

if u have seen the Bank Islami advertisement in the papers they also write their number like

eg 111-ISLAMI (475864)

nows its easy to tell and remember the number of ur friends

but it works with mobile

because u can see the letter on the number pad

but on landline it a bit difficult

So U phone is just making fool

hope u understand what it is yes they maybe offering number on ur demand but u can make it if ur present number works for u

I didn’t understand what u want

if ^^^ this is ur number that next time write this number as 0345-245atif

that’s all

#16

@waji

he is asking you, how the Ur Name service actually works i.e. how much does it cost to get a number which spells his name from Ufone...

Also: I have had the last 4 digits of my phone number spell out my name for years....i had the same last four digits in two different cities in Canada and now here in Pakistan (7292 = Raza)

#17

Yeah exactly. I mean im using Ufone right now. To get this "ur name" service what will be the procedure? Will my current number be changed to the new one which would be 0345-245atif or will my current number also work and the new number would also work? Also what charges will we have to pay? How will he have to pay?

Thats what i wanted to know.. The ufone's site doesnt have any information regarding this. Just stating that we are starting a new service called "ur name" is not enough on the website. They should atleast have a proper webpage with full details.

#18

PhoneSpell site spells your phone number for you. See what can spelt.

#19

Raza and alamode

i don't have a mobile and i gave just the example u can even see post # 13 again

and what i wanted to tell you all that it will not make any difference it's

just a way of writing ur number nothing else

Raza u don't need any thing to pay for telling number in your way

like u had a number as u posted now u can write it as XXX-XXXRaza now simple it nothing else

alamode what is ur number rightnow ??

#20

*sigh*

I was under the impression that Ufone was introducing a new prefix 033X within which they would assign the "Ur Name" numbers.

@waji: I am more than familiar with how alpha numeric numbers work.
