Two WINDOWS in one SYSTEM

i want to use windows vista and windows xp in one system. can i install both windows in one drive c. yesterday i install windows vista in drive c and windows xp in drive d but no option at startup and automatically starts windows xp at drive d.

To use both XPand vista on same computer, the computer needs to have XP installed first, if you install XP after Vista then only XP will boot, so you have to install XP first and then Vista and both cant be installed on same partition.

bundle of thanks. so i have to install vista again on drive c.

there is one another solution also . edit your boot.ini file

i have installed windows xp in drive c first than i install vista in drivd d both windows are working. thanks for help

yar it is better to keep both windows on different hard drives..

like i did..

it doesnt show any option in start

vista hard drive is set to default boot

when i wana use xp i press F8 in the start and it shows me devices to boot from i chose the xp drive

thus i have both windows without letting them know of each other's existance.....

^Which hard disks r u using, + size.

^

60gb seagate for XP

500gb seagate for vista..

And how much does 500 gb cost these days?

i bought

500gb seagate with 3Gb/s 32mb cache and 5 years limited waranty

for 5300

i have also bought it rs 5300 at sadar bazar rawalpindi last week

U can can use ununtu , vista , xp and many other operating systems on the same hard drive with the help of BCD Loader
