Traffic Police in New Corollas (what for ? )

salam to all

i m noticing since long that specially at shahra e faisal and other major roads in Karachi there are always new toyota corollas are parked at side of the road and the traffic police are doing the same job what the TULLA does , means stopping the riders and just kharcha paani , i m asking from the govt that why you gave them expensive cars for ?

PLUS they always keep their police flash lights on and those are so shiny and brilliant which cause distraction in the night times while driving, they should know 1st themselves tht how to park th ecar and when to flash the lites etc !

Around here sometimes I've seen traffic police in the newer Hilux (Vigo IIRC) and also in Suzuki Cultus

in islamabad its common to see traffic police in corrolas saloon and cultus

^ Islamabad Police has Honda Civic cars (in a rather low quantity).

Islamabad Traffic Police have Toyota Corolla cars.

Anti-Terrorist Force has Toyota's Hilux and Land Cruisers.

Motorway Police also has Toyota Corolla, Toyota Land Cruisers and Honda Civic cars.

Rawalpindi Traffic Police has Suzuki Cultus.

Lahore Police (traffic and otherwise) have Hyundai Santro and Suzuki Cultus.

And they don't deserve these cars!

@nadeem5476

Yes agree on flash lights , toooo shiny and annoying to eyes

now they also got suzuki mehran and suzuki ravi pickups here in khi

Its good that they gave the police good cars. It's definitely better than giving the same cars to government bureaucrats. Plus they are not expensive cars. They are very common cars and the police needs them.

yes its good act and here in rawalpindi traffic police is much better than before they are doing their job good

Highway and ATF people deserve it but normal farmi anday or tullas do not deserve it - due to these valuable cars the rate of "kharcha_pani" has gone up and mostly the bikers have become more prone to these bribe eating rascals because now you can't simply ignore their stop sign while you know they are in "shikar" / hunting mood - because they will chase you down and then you will have to pay a bit more.

Why they not have fun to using New Corollas atleast they are human being and can use taxpayer money like others.

I am sorry to say that.

There used to be a time when Police in Islamabad used to use stolen cars (once they were retrieved and unclaimed). They were driven onto the pavement and weren't moved from there. They couldn't give chase to any law violators because they did not have any fuel in their tanks despite having the cars. :D:rolleyes: :/

Then they got the older 90's Corolla which were abused to the limits and weren't even fit to drive. Then, thankfully, ITP was formed on positive public response regarding Motorway Police and it took over the traffic control of Islamabad. They got new cars and equipment and have maintained it much better than the previous crappy Islamabad Police. They even have a radio channel now.

Islamabad Police got new vehicles (Honda Civic) before the SAARC conference was held in Islamabad. They are mildly abused and kept in relatively better shape than the older Corollas.
