Tablet PCs available in Pakistan

I am thinking of buying tablet PC for my mother so she can read newspaper online. Currently we get two newspapers at home and the monthly cost is around Rs.900 which in yearly cost means Rs.10800 so I was thinking why not get a tablet PC which will be around same cost and benefit is you can ready many more newspapers and not just two.

So I was thinking what the table PCs available in Pakistan? Are Chinese tablets easily available? What are their prices?

I have seen PTCL tablet ad but it comes with 3G which I don't need because I have already got DSL at home so just need tablet with WiFi.

You can get 7" chinese tablets available these days. Have a look at below from homeshopping:

This one is a decent one for the price:

Or you can check out apad on above link... apads are getting quite popular..

i would suggest dont fuss too much about android 2.1 or 2.2 or 2.3.... just get one with the best build..

If you can better to spend some more and get a branded 10" tablet. Look at ebay for HP Touchpad or IPad or go for Samsung 10.1 or Ipad-2 if you want best quality.

wait for this one

Nice tablets here. I guess if I check electronics market the price will be lower because normally on website they list higher price.

How much will 10" tablet cost? I was also thinking the same that 7" might be too tiny.

Will it be released and expected price?

go for this one

http://www.facebook.com/Herotab

it comes with one year warranty

Don't go for any cheap chinese products. My recommendations are:

iPad, Kindle Fire, Acer Iconia

Price?

buy her kindle fire its great for ebook reading and its user friendly too

I m using samsung tab 10.1 love it a 10 inch and great hardware but if you just want to read newspaper then there sre alot of e readers available in the market cheap..

But in tablet line this tzb is perfect.

I will wait for the day when windows 8 ships out. That will be the day Apple's supremacy in the tablet market will truly be challenged. Majority of the enterprises are holding back just for switching to windows 8. Atm, tablets are nothing more than entertainment gadgets. You can't get serious work done on them.

@TechMan

Dont even think about HeroTab. Its *&^&^. Exaggerated specs, low quality build and what not. Even PTCL's tablet is better than this one. Its price is around 22k with so called 1 year warranty.

For Samsung tab 7.7, check this

Agreed. I am also holding out my new tablet+notebook purchase till Windows 8 comes out. When that comes out, i can just buy one device and use it for both purposes. :)

But as the OP said, he needs to buy it for his mom, so i think either Kindle fire or iPad would be a good buy.
