Stabilizer for AC

Hi guys, summer is again here and also the low voltage from wapda. So can anyone comment about RIMCO stabilizers if they are any good? or any other brand?

I have seen this specially designed for AC beauty on their site

also this regular model

anyone know about them and their price?

General.. and Universal Stabilizers..

search their original shops on hall road..

Thanks Farhan,

You mean Rimco is not good? as I read on this forum that Universal and General are now not of good quality, How will I know they are original?

Universal and general have their own shops on hall road.. you have to ask many people over there to confirm their original shop.

i dont know about Rimco.. havent heard about them.. there are 1000s of locally assembled stabilizers coming in same box with different sticker and you canot tell which is what..

Atco makes servomotors only so u cant get a relay one from them

also try inverex.. they usually make relay stabilizers with warranty..

Thanks Farhan, sorry for late reply as I was out of town for almost 2 weeks and just came back this weekend :)

Here is the link of Rimco stabilizers I was talking about... please share your views.

For checking stabilizer with voltage regulator at the shop, do they allow checking. I heard they try to avoid it.

they try to always avoid checking.. they will show you current voltage and will show you on load.. but since you are buying a huge stabilizer, they should show on regulator as well.. if you have your own regulator that would be easiest.

Aah... me have no regulator... waiting for your valuable comments regarding these two...

Also if I purchase from Zahid Shakir electronics mentioned in this thread () then do I still need to check with regulator?

Cheers!

Hey guyz, need your suggestions urgently as today I plan to buy Universal stabilizer. Yesterday called Zahid Shakir dealer of universal appliences and they gave address and number of Shahbaz electronics hall road. They have both A-50 and A-70 avaiable but they are 2 relay stabilizers.

Upon calling they told that these stabilizers can only be used for AC and not for any other thing.. like fridge etc...

1- Is 2 relay stabilizer enough for AC or I need 3 relay? As I think 3 relay is for very low voltage situations.

2- Are they correct about stabilizer is only for AC and not any other load ?

Thanks.

bump!

The Stabilizer can be used for anything...no compulsions.

ThankU :) ... what about 2-relay & 3-relay ?? 2-relay will be fine if there is no 3-relay available?

That Depends on the voltage drop in your area..

bhai go for rimco best stablizer for buy this stablizer http://rimco.com.pk/r100smart.html

@farhan: voltage goes as low as 170V but then there is a sudden drop to 160v- 150v for couple of seconds and then voltage again reaches to 200v as all ac on the line of our street get restarted :)... as you said we should expect 50% truth about the claims of companies regarding low voltage range, that's why asked.

@zulfiali86: Bro this looks great and wow its 5 relays...damn. do you have personal experience of this product? is it only for stabilizer? can you tell price?

They have any dealer in Lahore? I am unable to see any contact number on their site. Don't understand why :(

Thanks all.

Price 15k or 16k contact rimco dealer..

Thanks bro, I will call the dealer in morning. How ever do you have personal experience with this product? As universal stabilizers are bulky with large transformers in them but this looks smart so hope it does its job nicely!

there will always be spikes as low as 160V.. last summer we were having 130V at late night around 2-3 am.

large stabilizers can tolerate such spikes.. a 160V rated stabilizer is good to go for most part as long as you dont load it more than half the watts of stabilizers

it doesnot matter how many 1000s of relays you have.. quality and capacity of the relay matters the most.

Relay is the most critical component. Local manufacturers use low quality relays to reduce cost. Resultantly relay contacts wear out and eventually burn out relatively quickly.

Exactly farhan bro, there are periodic spikes of as low as 125 volts. then it again raises to 200 v. So Rimco seems good choice in case of quality relays etc...

Contacted the dealer. They have no branch in Lahore but only in Gujranwala :(. they asked to deposit payment online and they will ship the product... So looks like its out of list as I can't test/check the stabilizer before purchase.

They are only making 10,000 watts and price is 15K.
