SSD hard drives

Am thinking of buying an SSD for my laptop - Galaxy has Kingston ones in stock - I am thinking of the 128gb one for 21K - has anyone here used it, or is there a cheaper Kingston dealer somewhere else?

Galaxy's hard drive page: http://galaxy.pk/hard-drive.htm

My current laptop drive is making noises and vibrating, so I figure it's not going go last long now! My laptop is 2 yrs old now and getting a bit slow so I figure the SSD will rejuvenate it and hopefully good enough for 2 more years...

Can't say anything about price, but guys at tomshardware are fan of SSD, they reviewed a few. http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/ssd-charts-2010/benchmarks,110.html

the kingston ones you see at galaxy, they have low read/write speeds. if you can wait till mid jan, ill be importing gskill ssd's along with rams. 285mb read and 275mb write. + not to forget....at very attractive rates.

alienware, What will the approx price be? The Kingston ones are slower, but not too much slower according to the specs on the website: http://www.kingston.com/ukroot/ssd/v100.asp

And where will your SSD's (and other stuff) be available?

I will be waiting for the new and improved SSDs as well.

P.S:Do you by chance import AMD stuffs?CAn you do it “on order” if possible?

availability will be on iamextreme.net. if you see my website and the products available on it. prices are already lower than the alternatives you find in the market. so its obvious that the ssd’s and rams will be cheaper than market too.

Waiting on your SSD's, will check back in Jan.

I wonder if the SSDs will become cheaper in the foreseeable future!

not anytime soon.... at least not for 2 years I guess.

RAMS and SSD's by gskill are available now

Larger size ssd drives coming too, like 128 or higher? What about warranty on them, do you have a system for that?

I personally think that SSD is just wastage of money(provided you have nothing else to spend on)..No doubt, it significantly boosts the systems but IMO, look at their prices..They are simply insane for me at least!

After all, they are just storages....!

KO larger sized ones got out of stock at gskill at the last moment.

I am giving 12 months warranty on SSD's and Lifetime Limited warranty on rams. To check out what life time limited is, please have a look at the faq's on my website.
