lol @ rehmon malika … [ Malika sharawat na kah dana ] :D

thuggery

Well said villageitboy

Government won't dare to do it in whole Pakistan (maybe in specific region) but not possible for prolong blockage in any major urban city.

It will anger people to a level that it will produce huge amount of negative feedback. Government at the present stage, with so many problems and issues already at table, can't bear to start another issue by massively angering youth and younger generation.

Government can't dare to do it.

Nothing more than گیڈر بھکتیاں :)

well do you guys know that in IRAN there is no SMS service

i would be really happy if they do this (iam anti PPP) reason for this is whenever we, the people of Pakistan, get any thing good all we do is use it negatively. no matter what it is. seriosly we have to change our selves. what we do with this Unlimited sms we just forward a msg send by other to other person and the chain goes on. whats the use of it? i myself stop sending and stoped recieving these type of msgs from freinds and relatives. i use this service for only emergency or low in balance for which it is meant for.

now dont bombard me or drone attack me :P i said what came to my mind.

ditto…

at last i am agreed with Shuk :D

^ Who are we (or government in this case) to decide what is "good" or "bad" for people?

I don't use SMS (texting) as my some of friends do (they send hundreds of SMS daily). But I have no problem if a person send 1000s of SMS in a day. It's his/her decision to use a technology. Why should we dictate others to live by our standards?

Isn't it what socialist and Taliban do :)

Tolerate other people's freedom so they tolerate our freedom.

I am all for it if it helps stop / mitigate risk of terrorism but let's stop for a while and think....does it really help mitigate the risk. I don't think so.

Remote detonated bombs can be triggered by mobile by calling the cell phone attached to the explosives. Does that mean we block mobile services!?

These are just half cooked, lame measures our current government is capable of coming up with because they are incapable to comprehend the situation and invertebrate to take a stand against the never ending mantra of "do more!"

x2

if they wana stop sms abuse then they can just tell mobile companies to stop providing cheap sms service..

i mean sms rates back to old rates i.e. 1rs/sms

People also use Internet for negative purpose, people also use vehicles for negative things, people also use arms and amulations for negative purpose.

I use corn kernels in a negative mannger, I pop them and make popcorns :P

it is not like " it is our life and we can do what ever we want" if thats the case then all the criminals should be freed because its his/her decision to do crimes, why should police stop them and through them to jail. thats why i said we have to change our lives and this case we are not ready to do this. iam not against sms service but against to death to finish all of this unlimited sms thing iam sick of reading same msgs again and again hearing " yaar koi acha sa msg hai to send karo" :(

Criminals violate other human's freedom. It's not "freedom" to attack on other human's freedom, whether a criminal do it or government do.

Freedom doesn't mean to let go of criminals (who violated other human's freedom) or allow government to violate our freedom.

They are afraid of terrorists planing from sms or they don't like the daily sheree zardari jokes :/ :P ?

Maybe they are annoyed that their young sons and daughters are always glued to cellphone for SMS. As they have no control of their children, they want to do solution on "grass root level", kill the SMS service.

By the way, aren't we discussing the "what if" problem. :)

I don't think that government is seriously thinking on such stupid decisions. Or is it?
