Router problem

Please help me out in following :

When I connect another router to my existing router, the internet stops working.

I have tried this on Wateen Wimax Thunderbolt device which has a built in Wifi router and provision for connecting 2 LAN cables. This device was working fine but as soon as I connected my TP LINK wifi router to this device, the internet stopped working.

For experimental purpose, I used PTCL EVO device plugged on 3.5 G router and connected my TP link router. Again there was problem. I have also used different LAN cables (to ensure that there is no fault in the cable)

I think there might be some conflict which I am unable to figure out.

(you might be wondering why I need to plug another router. Its because I want to increase the range of Wifi to Upper story of my house.)

Configure the second router to work as an accesspoint, not as a router.

It may be the conflict with IP series/subset that you are using in your routers. For better results, use separate series.

For example:

router 1 has 192.168.1.x

router 2 has 192.168.2.x

I hope you get the idea.

in my opinion you should configure the router and it is be fine
