Nice speeds guys...new ptcl modems come with evdo/evo usb slot to connect evo/nitro devices. Will 4G dongle also work? If yes please tell modem model? As rockz mention 4g uses same technology as 3g and nitro with more connections

Thanks

Old PTCL usb modems are not supported. Works fine with TP-Link's TL-MR3220 or TL-MR3420.

No idea, haven't tried AN 1020-25U. But one thing is confirmed, router must support WCDMA devices not only Ev-DO because Charji dongle is WCDMA type. Wingle and old EVO devices were Ev-DO. PTCL is using completely different network for Charji. Its UMTS based not CDMA2000.

No Its not using different one :) same WCDMA/Ev-DO/UMTS (2100 Mhz) the same frequency they hold for Vfone/Evo services 1900/2100 Mhz

What they brought with 4G (Truely 3G) devices is that can create 12 concurrent connections to tower and bonding them into 1.

:)

 I didn't get it. WCDMA interface relates to UMTS family and Ev-DO relates to CMDA2000. Both can be deployed in your mentioned frequencies but have different modulations. Charji device indicates the network UMTS based when its switched on PTCL LTE network and CDMA2000 when its fallbacks. So, my question is, how it is possible to convert into WCDMA using 12x of Ev-DO when they don't relate to each other, i'm confused now.

:) Someday will post here the actual screenshot of the modulation agenda on network side and how ptcl 4g(actual 3G) works.

Hello,

I am thinking of getting the Charji EVO USB dongle in Karachi. Just confirming that does it working fine with the 3g Wifi Portable Routers like the one mentioned below :

http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?model=TL-MR3040

Has anyone tried it yet.

I already have a 3G EVO Rev A dongle which works perfectly with WIFI router.

Thanks for your response.
