PDF readers head to head comparsion

Which one is the best acrobat replacement ?

Nuance PDF Reader can convert PDF files to Word, Excel, or RTF and can Fill and save PDF forms. http://www.nuance.com/for-business/by-product/pdf/pdfreader/index.htm

Nitro PDf reader can create pdf files from 300 files types, is fast etc Other features are mentioned here http://www.nitroreader.com/features/

Then there is something called Foxit PDF reader.

So which one is the best of the lot ?

for reading foxit is best, don't know about the writing!

I prefer Adobe....yes i know it is bloatware...but i prefer it over all out there....and i have tried them all :|

My vote goes for Foxit too. Its a light and fast PDF reader.

Nitro PDf reader anybody ??

Nitro PDf

My vote goes to Foxit.

foxit is good.

soo many votes for Foxit. Is it soo light ?

Yep. Very light, and fast too. Works flawlessly. Even better than Adobe Acrobat Reader.

What about two others ? Anyone tried those ? I'm using Nuance PDF Reader right now is way better than adobe acrobat reader. Conversion to Word was excellent. Also Will try Nuance PDF converter pro for offline conversions and form filling.

Are you looking for only a reader or a converter as well? Since i think Foxit requires Advertisements programs to installed in order to access features in addition to "reader capabilities".

Actually I'm interested in a complete package. Features including Filling forms etc.

^Then why not use Adobe Acrobat the complete PDF solution

Adobe Acrobat is a paid software. And its pretty expensive as well. Many free programs are available on the net that let you create basic PDF files for free. I personally use the Printer plugin called Go2PDF. It lets you create a pdf file out of anything by just virtually printing it as a PDF file.

^He needs more than just conversions or printing some documents as PDF. He needs more than that, that's why I have suggested Acrobat. And who care about a software being expensive here in Pakistan. Most of home PC users are using pirated OS and all other stuff free of cost no matter how expensive that stuff actually is.

Foxit loads faster then other readers.

Acrobat is a hell of problem. It heavy, puts too many services in the start-up.

@rnathbatra Thanks for the suggestion, I also use a Microsoft’s plugin to save word files in PDF format. According to Nitro website it better than Acrobat http://www.nitropdf.com/professional/compared.htm

Also http://www.nitroreader.com/features/ does many thing in it’s free version too. Will try and report.

Has anyone got a form in PDF format ?

So here is the head to head comparison. Screenshot shows the memory consumption for each reader.
