p5kpl-cm vs p5kpl-vm

i want to buy one of these 2 boards..which is better one .. i m using c2d e4500 having 800fsb so higher fsb feature is useless for me rite now (cm version can oc upto 1600 fsb)...price is almost same

http://asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=i5ktecSJbqQKaa0x p5kpl-vm

http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?modelmenu=1&model=2068&l1=3&l2=11&l3=563&l4=0 p5kpl-cm

the only difference i see is that CM version has 8 Channel sound card whil VM version has 6 Channel sound Card. how abt P5B ? its has more features than both P5KPL Version. and these price differnce is very little.

They use the same chipset. The only difference is the O.C. support to 1600FSB so if the price difference isn't much, CM should be the better choice.

nah p5b supports upto 1066fsb processors…i will soon get a 1333fsb processor… :)

vm model is equipped with 6ch realtek whereas cm version is based on via 8ch audio…

which is better audio chipset realtek or via??

Go for the CM, they are amongst the CSM models (google it) so they are generally a better make then their counterparts. my previous experiences with cheaper asus models have not been favorable... but i have read good reviews about the CM so i guess it may be a nice product (asus highend models are sweet). also you get the 8 channel sound and the 1600 OC support so more OC headroom for you.

PS: also make sure you get the warranty from the person you are buying from along with shingtech (distributor) and incase of any failure first contact the seller rather than shing cause they suck real hard.
