Need suggestions for building PC

#1

I'm building my system and need your suggestions if it's souped up(no bottlenecks or things slowing process) and also advice me on the ventilation of chassis, how to ensure it's not hot inside the case, how many fans and where should i put it.Do advice with sufficient clarity since i never get how to ventilate properly.

Here are what my specs will be:

Processor : E4500 Intel core 2 duo (7800rs)

Motherboard : intel dg33fb (7500rs)

Casing : CM elite 330 350W (3500rs)

RAM : XMS cm-2GB-6400 (3500rs)

Hard disk : Seagate sata-2 250GB 8MB cache (4000rs)

Dvd-rom : SONY (1500rs)

This totals to 27800rs.

Advice me on it and i have a samsung dvd-rom so i can save 1500rs on DVD-rom.Should i save and improve some other things like processor or ram.

Also tell me a place from where if i bargain hard can get these specs for 25000rs.I only know Galaxy computers and i live in karachi.Tell me other credible and reliable retailers preferably in Uni-centre or other areas if they r good.

oops!forgot to mention that ram is of Corsair and casing is of Coolermaster.

I would add that my budget is 25k,but can be increased by 3k's if suggestion warrants.

Also,is this rig can play Fifa-08,i can't buy graphic card until may be 6 months. But i do have a provision after that.

when do u want to buy this pc

#4

for the cooling part i suggest u have one fan in the front of the case pullin air in and one at the back pumpin the hot air out

this is a pretty good ventalation technique and keeps ur case cool

anyways

my suggestion

pro: E7200 2.53Ghz (3MB CACHE - 1066 MHZ FSB) rs. 10200

mobo: asus P5GC-MX INTEL 945GC SND+AGP+LAN-1333MHZ FSB) PCX SLOT rs. 3600

hd: 320GB 3.5" HDD 7200RPM 8MB Cache (ST-3320620A) rs. 4900

dvdrw: samsung rs. 1800

casing: 4 fan (2 intake and 2 out take) with 400 w intel certified ps rs. 2400

RAM : XMS cm-2GB-6400 (3500rs)

total: rs 26400

u get a dvdrw, a 320 gb hd, and a 1066 mhz 3mb processor

for cooling pc instal 2 fans in front that intake air and 2 fans for out take in back..

Get an intel DG35EC board instead of the DG33FB. Onboard graphics are marginally better.

I myself bought a new pc just 4 days ago. DG35EC, E7200, etc. and am liking it! :)

#7

if you dont want the extras on the motherboard and are not a overclocker then intel is the way to go,,

i have never and will never buy intel, they are stable boards but they have nothing extra on them..

for example other boards have cpu, ram overclocking, geforce 7000 series cards are built onto the motherboard, fan and speed controling software, temperature monitors, faster lans, quiet cpu control so your cpu is whisper quiet,,i could go on and on..

I’ll buy probably in the 1st week of july. But i can wait if prices r expected to fall, which i doubt.

Guys,i need to be cleared about the casing and cooling fans.

When, for example,i buy the system with the aforementioned specs, how many fans will i get with the system?

I think u get a fan with processor and power supply. This makes it 2 fans.

If i go with 2 intake fans and 2 out take fans,as mentioned by Jack, how much these extra fans will cost me?

Can somebody tell me vendors other than Galaxy.I do need to have choices in this regard.

The mobo is limited to 4Gb of memory at 667 bus.I don’t think i’m gonna go with it but thanks for ur reply and others as well.Keep it coming.

Usually only one fan comes with the system, extra fans will cost you 50 rs to 100 rs.

sometimes casings have option of one big fan at the back and one big fan at the front..thats fine too, as long as front is intake and back is outtake, if there is one in the middle then it should be intake.

my case is similar to this one only it is grey

mostly vendors will just take out the ps and will sell u the case if u want to and buy seperate ps.

u will find all kinds of cases in the market,,blue, red, green,

but mostly they are grey, black and white,,

side window tower cases are which i like..i put in colored fans and its looks good

#12

very enlightening pics, really appreciate it jack.Just one query about it.there r 4 fans in it,2 side fans,1 top fan and one at the rear.the rear one is for outtake but which ones r for intake?and by which name this casing is available in the market and since u have similar case, how long u have been using this case and any problems with it as yet?

#13

the side fans are for intake

rear fans are for outake

u have option of whether u want to set the top fan for intake or out

don remember the name of the casing, i have been using the casing for 4 years now, no problems, i bought the ps seperately

oh color or light fans for casings with side window will cost u 200rs. bargain and maybe they will reduce the price.

like i said U will find casing SIMILAR to this one, not exactly the same,,mostly top fans are not included in the casings in pakistan only side and rear..

these casing are also available in the market but are hard to find

are they available on any local site?

#17

the most common kind of colored fans are available in karachi for 200 rs,,maybe less if u bargain. neon lights are also available and they make the casing look good especially if u have the lights turned down and are gaming.

mouses with a little light on the bottom and lighted keyboards are also available

the above stuff makes for a good gaming pc with the lights off and you are blasting aliens on your pc..

the most out of this world computer case i saw in karachi was one which had a fish aquarium built in with water..here's something similar

+++++++++++++++++++++++

they are available but i am not sure where, there used to be a shop in sasi arcade clifton but he closed down due to less sales,,he used to have these items

here is cheap way to light up your pc,,go to saddar and buy a small wire with small colored bulbs on it,,cost u 60 rs just put it in your pc near the see through window, it also comes with a small mode controller so that the bulbs have different light shining modes,,try it at your risk though,,
