There is another twist in this saga. Now it seems that all of us
who have been "migrated", will now have to be officially christ-
ened as PTCL's bona fide Broadband subscribers, ie; get a
visit from the PTCL broadband techs, get their modem, have
them set it up and then become regular PTCL paying customers.
According to 1218: "Aap kee Maxcom sey July 6th kou transfer
application mosool hoi thee. Aap ke paas PTCL kee team aai
gee, aap kou modem dya jai ga, phir aap kee billing start kee
jai gee. All in seven working days".
Couldn't Maxcom send a flyer or something, along with their
bill, explaining all this procedure and process therein ?. We
are getting this s*** in drips and drabs, with nobody to turn to.
The Twilight Zone of broadband where nobody wants to take
Btw, how will this work exactly ?. Has my line been changed
to ONU, or does PTCL provide broadband on copper as well ?.
Will we be charged Rs. 2000/month, or will we remain on the
Maxcom rate of Rs.1800/month ?. If we are charged more, will
we be getting the higher upload speed of 1MB ?. Out of the 3
modems supplied by PTCL which sucks the least (Huwai,
Zytel, Blah) ?. Are there any preferred settings (LAN, PPOE,
Bridging, VCI, VPI, etc) that I should know about ?.
I am so not prepared, to go through all this BS right now.
