Looking to buy new desktop pc ( suggestions and recommendation needed)

#1

well guys my budget is around 30k , so please recommend me pc in this range , with a good graphic card which support latest game ( i can also go for used graphic card ) and also tell me is there big difference in dual core or core2due processors. so thanx in advance for ur suggestions and recommendations.

I would suggest using DG33FB mobo since even if you don't invest on a gfx card, you will still be able to use your PC due to onboard graphics.

ofcourse their is a huge diffrence in dual core and core2due. they have some diffrent architecture dual core processors are with 1 mb cache and 800fsb but the core 2 due processors have upto 6mb cache and 1333 bus speed. so go for a c2d. i bought

Processor:2.2 core2due

MB:dp35dpm

Ram: ddr2 2gb

graphics card: nvidia 8600 gt 512 mb

it cost me around 33k. (without monitor) but it is a very good pc. i am doing 3d architectural designing work and also playing cod4, nfs prostreet, cnc tibarium wars, halo 2, cyrisis with full graphics details. and it is working perfect.

i think if you go for DG31PR motherboard it would be fine and your cost will decrease about 2k as compare to dp35dpm.

well i have

intel E4500 2.20Ghz (2MB CACHE - 800 MHZ FSB) processor

intel dp35dpm motherboard and 160 gb hard disk (i will upgrade this when my budget will allow)

all the motherboard discussed earlier in this thread are intel manufactured.

any good shops in lahore ?

Check Spider Issue. They Have Got Good Pc Recommendations!

you can compensate by getting the DG33FB instead of DP35DP, there's no point in paying more money (unless you just want to spend anyway), for the money you save, you can get a bit faster processor ... go for the e6750 (2.66 C2D 4MB L2 cache) .. or e8200 (2.66 C2D 6MB L2 cache) .... an extra video card isn't needed if you are short on money and are okay with the onboard graphics of Dg33FB ...caz they are great themselves, i am using thata MoBo myself

#7

that is what actually i want too that at this time i should more emphasis on Processor and MB rest will be not a issue , and i m looking for e8400 and abbas the prcoessors u told can u give any idea what are there prices

and what u say about this mobo ? ASUS P5N-T

#8

well if you are planning on playing games the onboard graphics of intel mobos are anything but great...ofcourse you can wait and invest in a graphics card later on...

P5N-T Deluxe is a great motherboard but its a bit pricey isn't it?

#9

DJNOMI, I'll suggest you stick on with some Intel Original Mobo. I've read about alot of hype abotu Asua, Gigabyte MoBos, so they might be good if you are planning to overClock ur PC. otherwise go with a genuine Intel mobo.

#10

hmm yeah thanx waiting for a month or two may be prices come more down

#11

Windows Vista must be included ( Can also use Pirated one )

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

E2160 will beat all p4 processors upto 3.8 ghz>>plus you can overclock itand it will give you same performance as c2d 2.2. In case of overclocking do it at your own risk and just use a different motherboard like asrock conroe 1333 d667 for rs 3800

Iam using a e2160 on stock and with 7300 gt i am playing crysis call of duty 4 etc etc. on medium settings so..

anyways here

conroe 1333 d667 for rs 3800

E4500 2.20Ghz (2MB CACHE - 800 MHZ FSB) 8600

1 gb kingston rs 1350

samsung dvdrw rs 2200 sata

total 28450

That’s a p4 2.8ghz or a Dual Core 2.8ghz? If it’s a P4, then this core2duo 1.8ghz will beat the hell out of p4 2.8 any day. Plus, you can overclock it to 2.6ghz easily on stock coolers (or 3.0ghz if there’s good room temperature and more by adding cooling solutions). If I were you, I would remove those speakers and DVD-Writer for now and instead go for more RAM and a SATA-II hard disk with 16mb cache. There’s no point buying a SATA-II HDD with 2mb cache in 2008.

When choosing a processor also pay particular attention to the L1 cache. Generally a bigger cache beats out a faster processor in terms of performance.
