LINK DOT NET's connection sharing or contention ratio

#1

well since the launch of leading dsl services we hav been hearing alot about connection sharing ratio or contention ratio which is said to be like 1:4 in link dot net and different in other isps..

but till recently like most dsl users i never experienced this connection sharing ratio...

now looks like LDN is out of bandwidth n this connection sharing ratio is in place especially during day time n peak hours..

Now during peak hours speed fluctuates very much between your maximum n 1/4th of your maximum speed while upload remains untouched..

the pings are raised x2 too....

but 1/4th of your connection speed is ensured n you dont go down that speed...

recently our member here 'satlover' also mentioned it but i thought it was a temporary issue but it seems to be a permanent one...

so just think before getting LDN if you are a night downloader then LDN is best for you cuz you can only do browsing at day/peak hours not much downloading...

may be it ll start soon in ptcl too but ptcl is bw giant .... its not gona be soon..

but its still better than contention ratios of 1:20 or 1:50 like in uk usa and japan

atlast its the right of isp to do such sharing cuz of such low rates..
