I don't notice a Big difference between them

Intel Pentium 4 630 has 2MB Cache and Dual Core has 1MB

The only difference I see is that Dual Core E2160 has a architecture of 65nm and Pentium 4 90nm

So, Will this account for a major difference?

#2

an e2160 will be much faster then the p4 3.0 ghz

#3

Pentium 4 is old netburst architecture whereas E2160 is newer core Architecture. E2160 features two cores on single chip that is you will get two processors in price of One.

Clock speed has become irrelevant nowadays, Instructions per clock is important. In lay mans term E2160 runs at lower clock but it executes more instructions per clock than Pentium 4.

#4

Go for Dual Core e2160 as its better than P4

#5

Thanks for the info. So i will go for a Dual Core now

#6

Get E2160 and you can overclock it easily upto 2.4 to 2.6 if you have a decent motherboard which supports overclocking and then it will beat the p4 processor hand down.
