As i said, 824 was the number from which i received this sms on my Ufone sim.

As the number is 824, feels like the sms is not fake, but that doesnt confirm it...

#5

its not fake, my brother get register his sim with this service.

ufone ppl are very clever, they dont want to loose their customers.

#6

So now they will use the ID card numbers to fetch all data from Nadra directly or what?

PTCL? You mean PTA ??

Anyway my friend who also uses Ufone, didnt get the same message. Its 7th today, and they said the deadline is 10th so shouldn’t he have got the message by now ?

#10

Call helpline and ask them. If you can't wait for the hold time, press the English button then talk Urdu :P.

I dont understand this seeing as when my sim was being registered, they required a thumb print.

#13

i want 2 register my zong sim by sending my id card no by sms .....?

#14

As per PTA directive, Ufone along with all other telecom companies

are now required to register and keep records of their SIM holders.

Many, like me, got their SIMs from a panwala by giving them a copy

of my NIC. I thought that would suffice.

But now Ufone Customer Service Representative (CSR) maintain

that everybody like me, has to come in and fill out the form, do the

thumb print and get their SIMs registered officially and properly, to

avoid getting blocked. There were news reports last week that tens

of thousands of multiple and bogus SIMs have already been blocked.

Btw, all of us will continue to receive these BULK SMS, even when

we have registered. Because they go out to everybody.

Note: Ufone CSR maintains that just sending in your NIC number

through a SMS will NOT get you registered. You have to come in

to their offices and do the whole paper work thingie, for them to

properly register you. Sending SMS does NOT count, is what I was

told, in no uncertain terms.

#17

how can i check my sims registration?

#18

when i send my id card no to 314.They reply me (thank you for submitting your Cnic)wat can i do now?

#19

Nothing. Let them do the rest.

What do you do if your name is all mumbled jumbled, but your ID card is correct? My name's spellings in Telenor's records are awful (the ID card is fine).

What say you? Should I be bothered? Whenever I've called 345, I've never really had a problem though.
