How to create another floppy disk as Master key?

#1

I have a PLC programming software installed in one PC. To open the program, I have to insert a Floppy disk as a Master Key. But now floppy disk has started to create problems and I want to create another disk. Copy and pasting of data from original disk to new be not valid i.e. new disk don’t open the program. Any other idea to achieve this goal?

;)

You still use floppy disk.

Strange.

You should first make an image of original disk and then copy that image to 2nd disk.

Perhaps it is reading some information from the floppy's boot sector...

stop using floppy, try a cd R, its cheaper than floppy now

I think it is not his choice, rather a requirement of the PLC software he is using.

@Signode

Which software it is and for which PLCs ?

Dear Ahsan2K;

I am sorry I don't know how to create an image of floppy disk.

Dear Ijaz Ahmad;

Software is RS Logix 5 and for Allen Bradley PLC5.

This is the requirement of software to insert floppy disk to open it.

Nice to meet you Signode, at least there is someone on this forum who has tech problem other than internet :D Control systems are always my favourite…

Can’t you upgrade to some newer version of RS Logix and get rid of this floppy problem ?

BTW: Is this software free or one has to buy it ?

Please use winimage to create image of this floppy and then reload this image to another new floppy. See the link http://www.winimage.com/
