One of my friend from Multan is coming to Karachi, He will be accompanied with his wife but he is not sure yet but mist probably he will bring her. So he does not want to stay at some friends house. I was searching for some cheap restaurants for him as it will be a 24 hour stay and found some of them very expensive.

Till now I have checked up with Holiday inn and hotel beach luxury. There rates for one night stay are 6000 and 7000 respectively which I found very expensive. So I didn’t bother to check up with marriot and PC.

Can you guys recommend some good family type hotels with good atmosphere.

Can some one reply to above quote from other topic here as the topic was closed due to this thread already existed. I will highly appreciate if some one can confirm or give the idea of hotel room rates and packages.

I booked Carlton for my friend who came from Dubai almost a year ago and their rates were around 8000 per night. My friend did not like their service at all. Said that the bellboy had to be called in to change the sheets and everything. I remember that PC, Avari and Sheraton were between 10000 - 12000 per night back then. There is a new hotel opened at the Airport called Ramada. Their Iftar buffet rates were exceptionally high i.e. 999+tax (1200) but their food was pathetic. On the other hand, its at the Airport so you would have to travel between 30-60 minutes to get to clifton/defence if you want to go to some good markets, malls and shops or for outing as well.

I personally think that if you are getting Beach Luxury for that much, then go for it. If you found THAT to be very expensive, I would suggest you reconsider coming to Karachi then, because you haven't seen expensive yet. Like I said, the famous hotels are far more expensive than that. Beach Luxury is a good hotel located at a good place free of trouble and near to Clifton/Defence.

Thank you all, sorry for delay, i was busy.

@EngeL, @Vad3r

Please check Hotel Jabees, as i had a little search and found this hotel most in-expensive

Thanks Vad3r,

I'm a karachian and I know how much expensive hotels are. I myself booked Sheraton last year for the government delegation's from japan for 260$ and 24 rooms but right now the cheaper hotel option is because my friends wants to stay not more then one day as he is on a some meeting here and he wants her wife to see Karachi as they are first time travelers here. Also most of the time they will be spending in malls and probably beach so they wont spend more then 5 to 7 hours in hotel room so they wanted a cheap option. Any ways I have also decided to go for beach luxury hotel as it costs 1 thousand more and the service is unbeatable at 5 star hotel. I was getting 15600 rates at Sheraton and 13900 at PC.

If the rates are quoted correctly then these local

hotels are out of their minds!. These rates rival the

$ charged by 5-star hotels like Hyatt, in NYC (USA).

All these hotels are really doing is changing the sheets

and towels (or not) and cleaning the rooms (or not).

Tourism from abroad is non-existent. The hotel lobby

cries all the time about how they have less than half

occupancy these days. Such hefty price tags are not

helpful.

About Hotel Jabees; about an year ago, an acquain-

tance was put-up there by a Telecom company. One

evening, when he returned to his room, he found 2

'used' condoms in his room. Hot words were exchanged

with the manager, who didn't seem to think it was a

big deal, and moved out.
