The errors indicated in the log above usually occur when the burn laser or the disc-holding magnet gets misaligned. Has your drive recently started making one or two strange noises when you insert the disc? If so then it is magnet problem and can be corrected easily.

No, I haven't heard any such noises while inserting the cd. Actually, whats exactly happening is that its not writing anything. I first simulated it, worked fine but it is actually not writing anything even though it says burn process completed successfully but in the end the cd is blank. Has it anything got to do with ide cable, that is what we call it data cable

can you see the red light blinking when its writing?

No, I never noticed that though, I am letting you know in a bit, thanks haan!

So you ruined one cd of Rs. 15 and your complaining? Try a few more CDs. Try CD-RW to save money. A coaster now and then is to be expected.

I wasted one cd of RS. 10, and I am crying. Yes, seriously speaking, I was thinking the same of buying a CDRW. Thanks for the msg indeed.
