[Help] Blackberry Phonebook problem

#1

I have just bought BB Curve, its good but facing a weird problem regarding its Phonebook, whenever i click for phonebook it displays only contacts from BB Phone and doesnt include SIM contacts, however i can see SIM contacts by clicking Sim Contacts.

Now my question is that is that possible to make SIM contacts as default phonebook, or its a BB limitation :(

already search google, no solution there. Anyone?

Import your contacts from the SIM to your phonebook: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB03189

You can also copy contacts from your phonebook to your SIM: http://www.articlesbase.com/gadgets-and-gizmos-articles/how-to-copy-blackberry-contacts-to-sim-card-1994653.html

I don't think its possible to use the SIM as default to read contacts. But then you don't really need to do that, so you shouldn't care. The above linked information will help you achieve the same functionality.

You can import phone data from a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card to the contact list on your BlackBerry smartphone.

To import a single contact, complete the following steps:

On the BlackBerry smartphone Home screen, open Contacts.

Display the menu and select SIM Phone Book. The SIM phone book is loaded.

Select the contact you want to import, then select Add to Contacts.

In the New Address screen, type any additional information.

To import all contacts, complete the following steps:

On the BlackBerry smartphone Home screen, click Contacts.

Display the menu and select SIM Phone Book. The SIM phone book is loaded.

Display the menu and select Copy All To Contacts.

Go back to the contact list and make sure all of the entries are displayed.

Now! no Flash, no skype what BB for?

I differ Blackberry from other mobile devices or smart phones being as an executive hand held device, usually and mostly used on the Go. They have the features in their own category what are really meant for and what you will not find in other devices. I am sure you would have known about these features lying under BIS.

However you can find your entertaining features on blackberry appworld including IM+ (which gives core Skype functionality). and as well a dedicated YouTube player which can play youtube videos but surely can't play other flash content.

BTW I suppose Skype officially has software/support for BlackBerry devices. didn't you try http://m.skype.com/ ?

RIM is working on a flash player for the Blackberry. It'll take a bit of time though since its in the very initial stages.

but I really feel that RIM is just like turtle :P

but no doubt they really come up with useful things and do not overload their devices with extra crap every second day… So would be great when users will find such great things on their devices… But till then I think there is no less in the devices and they really do what they were designed for…
