Galaxy mini vs Nokia 500

I need some suggestions guys, which should i buy Samsung Galaxy mini or the new Nokia 500 ?

Nokia 500 is definitely better of the two. Unless you're a Android fanboy or a Symbian hater. B)

upsilon, a bit more detail will be appreciated. Please dont tell me to use Google. I am bit lazy today :)

^ Ok, lets compare the differences:

Nokia 500 | Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570

Camera: 5 MP | 3.15 MP

Video Camera: VGA@15fps (640x480) | QVGA@15fps (320x240)

Screen Resolution: 360 x 640 | 240 x 320

Screen Colors: 16 Million | 256 Thousand

Aspect Ratio: 16:9 | 4:3

Built-in Memory: 2GB | 160MB

CPU: 1 GHz | 600 MHz

3G Speed: HSDPA, 14.4 Mbps - HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps | HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps - HSUPA, 2.88 Mbps

How about the touch interface? i’ve heard Nokia 500 is slower than the samsung galaxy mini even with its 1 Ghz Processor

Oz, that does not sound correct. Android OS has a history lag problems, Symbian does not. So, there should be no problem with N500.

btw, Android sucks on low cost phones. You cant use many important games or apps. For instance, you will not be able to install the all time fav FireFox for Android on a low cost anroid. They need ARM family 7 processors (if im not mistaken).

As a side note, it is possible that you will be able to install windows mob os on your n 500 once people start cooking/porting custom firmwares for it.

Thank you Upsilon. I am an android fanboy, to be precise and i dont really "see" any difference b/w N 500 and galxy mini. Sorry for that :)

Using Nokia 500 and Galaxy Gio...Gio is better..but its all upto being an Android fanboy...For me the Nokia 500 is one of the decent and feature-rich phone...But if you have android addiction then nothing would seem better to you..Nokia-500 Decent smartphone!

android is funtastic

I’d Say go for the Gio…u’ll simply love its GUI and responsiveness…its quality within price and value for your money.

I agree. Gio would be a better buy as compared to either Samsung Galaxy Mini or Nokia 500. The price difference is also not that much as well.

Ok, But Better picture quality wud be on Nokia 500 right cuz it has 640x360 resolution but GIO has 480x320..??

My 5530 also has 640x360 resolution, and i can guarantee you that the display is magnificent. B)

so nokia 500 all the way ??

bro these are the numbers only...go check and use it your self and u'll be astonished to know the resolution of Gio...It is way better then nokia 500. And in Nokia 500 u can't play YouTube above 240p..whereas in Gio the built-in app supports and gives a tremendous view of YouTube...Just go to market and hold both in your hand and then compare the difference.

^ Umm... I play 360p videos on my 5530...

@Ozmayne I'd also advise you to go to a used mobile shop & try both them out before deciding which to buy.
