total charges initially i paid for 20 Mbps connectivity was 2,500 (Per month charges) + 5,000 Installation charges.

Well, congratulations on finally getting the good stuff! I hope the 3 month wait would prove to be worth it. Still waiting for FN to start their operations in my area.

And are you getting double speed at night?

@DJNOMI

Congratulations! you stuck with them all these months

and are now, rightly, reaping the sweet sabar-ka-phal.

Btw, is that all you paid (5,000+2,500=7,500) ?. In that

case, TES is charging a whole lot more for it's FTTH,

around 16,000/- installation, plus 3,000/- monthly for

the same d/l speed of 20Mbps. Though it does provide

an equal u/l speed, which will be attractive to gamers.

no double speed but i talked to their support they said it start after 2:30 PM but if still it didn’t go double contact with support so i will check at that particular time if it works :)

@DJNOMI:

Here are TES packages:

TES_FTTH_data_packages.png

The term "CPE" stands for Customer Premises Equipment.

They want you to pay Rs. 10,000/- for that and Rs. 5,000/-

for STB. "STB" I presume is Set Top Box, used for HDTV

viewing, if you take the (broadband+HDTV) package (#2).

With Sindh & Federal taxes, I think somebody on this board

said they are paying Rs, 4,000/month for package #2.

So it looks like Fiber Link is the better deal, unless the TES

CPE and service is a better FTTH technology... ???.

Chilli Bro My Point is you you said they will offer CIR i have high doubts on it you need to check with them what bandwidth commitments they are making as far as the deal is concerned i think HD quality Channels make sense i would like to go with Package 2 deal :) but Fiber net is not offering and TV services so i think both offering similar pricing and same thing though the router i got from Fiber link is TPlink cheaper one with low signal quality … but i think you need to analyse which company is offering you better services.

@DJNOMI

Well, TES has these offerrings on their order form:

And this one:

I know "CIR" (Committed Information Rate). It's how software

through multiplexing gives logical connections in a Virtual Circuit,

priority to more data-hungry connections. Blah, blah.

But I am not real clear on the half vs full "rack". I am not even

sure I need it, for just household use.

Sheikh 'Recon is ON' Chilli

I just talked to the sales person at FiberLink, Karachi.

He says that for a 20Mbps connection, they are charging

Rs.7,000/- for installation and Rs. 4,300/month. Total

first month is Rs. 11,300/-.

On their website they have listed their monthly charges at

Rs. 3,000/- for DHA (Rs. 2,500/month for all other areas). He

claims the add-ons are because of taxes (DHA, Sindh, Federal).

For the 10Mbps package, installation is the same. The monthly

charges are 3, 613/-

All these packages looked good without taxes. It is a sneaky

sales pitch to ensnare new customers.

Sheikh 'Mehh' Chilli

well yes in sindh there is tax on internet and in punjab its still unclear if tax is implement or not so lets see ..

^ are you all justifying paying 11500 rs EXTRA just for quicker upload speeds????

…???:wacko:

btw i didnt understand what does mean 4 CIR + 16 Mbps shared is this mean 4 Mbps upload and 16 Mbps download? seriously no idea what is this all about simply chill call them and see what both Companies are offering which suits your requirements at best.
