Do you face this problem with Worldcall EVDO?

#1

Hey Friends,

I am using Worldcall EVDO and it is working absolutely fine, but when I try to open Gmail, Google search, google images, or adsense, even google analytics... everything related to Google I get this error

-----------------------------------------------------

"Connection Interrupted

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again."

-------------------------------------------------------

I just keep pressing "Try Again" button or "Refresh" button, but it loads after so many attempts.

I called worldcall helpline, but they suggested to "Turn off" the Firewall. I don't understand this. In fact, it didn't solve the problem.

Any of you face this problem with worldcall EVDO? please help me.

I am using EVDO 256 kbps connection and am not facing any such problem. Why don’t you try to use some other browser, like google chrome or safari or even firefox?

#3

Yes, I do use Firefox.

That is the only browser I use. But the error come in every browser. On IE it just say "Page cannot be displayed" :(

Right now everything is working fine... but sometime it just doesn't work.

I think I will have to call helpline again.

#4

clean cache and try again and see problem solved otherwise you have to contact techincall staff of EVDO.

I am using wired WC connection and I too have faced this problem especially when trying to access adsense. I think it has to do with changes WC made to their proxy server. It caches websites so that WC saves expensive International bandwidth.

However its causing a bottleneck in their network as all connections pass through it and it can’t handle the load. The reason google’s sites are difficult to access is because they are very dynamic in nature and there is next to nothing in the way of static cacheable content.

Edit: There is nothing you can do but complain to WC. The problem is on their end.

#6

May be it is because of bandwidth, you know I cannot open youtube.com because the whole site is just disturbing (design-wise)

Don't know if you know "Stylesheet", but my internet is not downloading those stylesheets when accessing youtube that's why the whole layout appears broken :(

Worldcall should get more professional and get a forum where users can give and get help regarding their products.

Yes that’s a symptom of your connection with the proxy server being broken while your browser is downloading parts of the site like the stylesheet.

Worldcall does have a forum. Its at http://www.worldcall.net.pk/forums . Not too many helpful users there and no worldcall employees.

It is not cache, there are limitations with WorldCall server

#11

It's definitely a problem in Worldcall setup, these days I am a victim of EV-DO. Shafiq, is it same for you? **Internet is working like an overloaded ghada ghari, where you have to hit donkey for every step (I mean F5 key)**

#12

No HellBorne, It is working fine for me today and since I started using it.

I am using EVDO, not EV-DO. I don't know they are different or you are just calling it differently.

I meant EVDO, there is no difference because of ‘hyphen’. My area is Korangi, what is your location of use?

See this Ping log, it might give you an idea of what I am experiencing - note the latency rate:

I see. My location is “Safora Goth - Main University Road”.

Can I please know how are you checking the ping? Me too will check it and tell you what response I am getting.

[/quote]

Open command prompt, by typing “CMD” in run box (without quotes) and then type this, press enter thereafter:

ping www.facebook.com -t >>c:\pinglog.txt

This will send ping to www.facebook.com, while “-t” denotes until you stop it manually and “>>c:\pinglog.txt” signifies that output should go to a text file which will be created in your C drive as “pinglog.txt”. The purpose of adding >>c:\pinglog.txt is to enable you copy and paste the results for being posted at the forum:

NOTES:

1) Press CTRL+C when you want to stop Ping command.

2) Please use www.facebook.com to make it comparable with my results.

3) Mention your connection speed.

Thanks!

Thanks ~ but who is suppose to check it? :) Registered a complain two days ago, in fact three days now, and still no improvement and they never called me back after "24 hours".

This is honestly frustrating,
