In which slot you have inserted your zong sim?

No network search need to enable 3G.

Mobilink has today also finally announced their packages, here they are:

http://www.mobilink.com.pk/mobile-internet/mobilink-3g-prepaid/

-----

As you can see, it is similar to Zong's packages which is a good thing. But i can say with certainty that the speeds are nowhere near the amazing speeds being provided by Zong, so that's that. Still the packages are good IMO, they just need to work on their speeds & 3G coverage.

Zong has launched 4G LTE services in all major cities of Pakistan.

You can get the details here: http://www.zong.com.pk/4g/

Apparently their 4G webpage is garbled at the moment so i will update you on the packages later.

In order to use 4G services, you will need to upgrade to a 4G capable sim, you can get that from their franchise or by ordering it online from here: http://www.zong.com.pk/4g/sim

You will also need a 4G capable handset and 4G network coverage in your area in order to experience 4G.

Go 4G! B)

So which company sim would be best for heavy data consumption in tablet.

Mobilink is offering 15GB for Rs 300 at the moment. :o
Wat’s up with that…

^ That is a timely promotion to attracts unsuspecting customers, it expires on October 31st (a week from now).

You can take a look at their actual bundles

In future always pay attention to that small font text alongside the * symbol.

-----

For heavy data consumption, i would recommend sticking to Wifi if you can, but if that's not an option then Zong's 4G bundles may suit you best.

I see

So for basic connectivity throughout the month…
Zong = 4GB (Rs 650)
Mobilink = 4GB (Rs 600)
Telenor = 3GB (Rs 400)
Ufone = crazy :D

Telenor offers best value

For medium usage
Zong = 10GB (Rs 1500)
Telenor = 8GB (Rs 1000)

Again telenor offers better value

For heavy usage
Zong 20GB offers same value for money as telenor
Only 30GB package beats telenor :)

So Zong only if you consume at least 20GB per month??

^ Perhaps, but you also gotta account the speeds and coverage to come to a conclusion.

Based on my experience, currently Telenor's coverage and speeds are poor (in Karachi at least), so that could be an issue for you.

mobilink package revised

@upsilon. Just a rough idea for 3G package. How much minimum GB require in one month for email, facebook, Tapatalk & some internet browsing outside home?

For that, i think 1GB-2GB should be quite enough.

And Zong's guide seems to agree with me (although i don't know how accurate that is).

You can also install some bandwidth usage statistics app on your phone and let it guide you on what package you should subscribe to.

#53

android internal bandwidth manager and allocator / limiter does that work fine even on dual sim phones

PS: no internet package for me... Wifi FTW :D

#54

I realized that i had forgotten to add Warid's LTE packages, so I've just done that on the OP.

Here's a dupe for quick look as well:

I gotta give props to Warid here, those are some highly competitive packages! B)

#55

Warid FTW...!!!

#56

From the rates, I can see that the cheapest are - 1 being the cheapest 5 being the priciest.

  1. Mobilink
  2. Telenor
  3. Warid
  4. Zong
  5. Ufone

In that ^ order, am I right?

Which one is the best? Do we have data on speeds of all the networks, or someone who has experienced all networks?

#57

please post APNs too

#58

^ Here you go:

-----

Mobilink:
jazzconnect.mobilinkworld.com
ufone:
ufone.pinternet
Telenor:
internet
Warid:
warid
Zong:
zonginternet

#59

^ that's great for if some one wants to connect modems routers and needs to know APN
