[h]For DSL User Who Want To Creat Their Own Server on Internet:[/h]

Download patch 23 (from "blindclan.uk.tt")

Install Counter Strike 1.6.

Install CS 1.6 patch 23.

Now Carefully Follow the setps :

Befor You Creat a Server You have to Forward the Port of Couter Strike.

To Enabled Port Forwarding Open Your Router/Modem IP 192.168.1.1.

Enter User Name and Password (default Username & Password = admin & admin).

Find The Port Forwarding Option (it is located in Different Location/section Depend on Your Modem Model/Manufacturer)

Click Your Modem and See where is PF Option And How to PF (port forward):

Shiro Corporation: DSL805E

Huawei: SmartAX-MT880

Huawei: SmartAX-MT800

ZTE: ZXDSL831

ZTE: ZXDSL831D v2

ZTE: ZXDSL831 v2

ZTE: ZXDSL831 v4.1

ZTE: ZXDSL831 v4.2

D-LINK: DSL-2640U ( New Firmware of D-LINK:DSL-2640U -,- PF Sample Shot )

When You Completely Forward Your Port, Creat a Server > Open "HLDS.EXE".

When Your Server is Start Check Your IP on "ipChicken.com".

Copy Your Ip Address and Open "gametracker.com". (you need to register your self first - its FREE)

To Check that Your Server is Working on Internet Or not..

OK now You are Registered , Login on gametracker.com.

Click MY SERVERS then Click ADD SERVER Link.

select Your Game > Paste Your Internet IP (ip u got from ipChicken.com) > Add Your Port.

If You Accurately Following the All Above Mention Steps You surely Can able to Creat a Server.

if your Server show's Green on gametracker.com then give your Internet IP (i.e 116.71.65.21:27015) to your Friend(s) So they Can Easily Join Your Server :).

---

Note :

1Mbps is not Good Enough to MaKe a server on Internet. You Need Atleast 2 or more. Otherwise Your server Lagss very badly. (on 4/5+ Players)

Each Time When Your Modem Restart/On-Off , Your Internet/International Ip Changed.

Make sure your firewall/antivirus is not blocking HL.exe , HLDS.exe.

You need to Forward Your Port (UDP Specially) on Your Own IP not Router IP (192.168.1.1 < not on this).

You always need to check your New IP on IPCHICKEN.COM, becoz it change all the times.

Ports Never Change nor it Closed it self. so You dont need to worry about Ports.

Counter Strike mostly use Ports from 27015 to 27025.

(^ some information added - will added more common issue/information)

OK so now here im posting my whole Procedure of MaKing Server in Pictures.

Each Time When Your Modem Restart/On-Off , Your static Ip Changed.
[/quote]

Please do not use the term Static IP in this context. it's not a static which changes. I know you didn't mean that and you might know about the Static IP or other IPs. but it creates confusion to some ones who do not know these terms very well. and they might get it right.

this correction was not as much needed but I only mentioned because it can be miss understood in different manners.

I, on many places, have read the same that many people think it to be true but it is not actually. even 256Kbps upstream in a bandwidth on server can hold up to 4 or 5 players. as per the requirement of 6KB/s(48Kbps) for 1 player in most games, not all (if you know that). I am sorry I couldn't arrange any reference.

but I personally believe that and logically too it must not be required as much bandwidth to hold 4 or 5 players.

what travels on the internet, while playing a game online, are the instructions (not any kind of graphics)

for estimation of required bandwidth you can add up the bandwidth for as many players multiplying them by 6. that means 1Mbps upstream can hold almost 21 players as dividing 1024Kb/48Kb or 128KB/6KB = 21 approx.

Broadband is much preferable for online gaming ofcourse and more specially for first person shooters because any LAG can cause a problem in playing. and that is the first and may be the most important thing which is caused by the PING TIME. I am not going to describe it now there are many topics about it on WP. but I thought it should be cleared.

values used in the post might not be very accurate but are most relevant to the accuracy. as it depends on the Game..

EDIT : Pictures added to the First Post.

@arsalanehsan

@your first image with port forwarding detail.

I am afraid, you other ports for WMP might not be working good as well. are they fine??? and did add them???

It seems to me your Machine's IP address is 192.168.1.2

then forward the ports on this IP address not on 192.168.1.1(that is your router)

edit: it think I wrote the post in much delay. you already have got it. :)

the WMP ports are made for UPNP not for streaming so they are working fine

yeh i got that and changed it its working fine now

@striker

what should i do now???

its working fine and the gametracker.com is showing my server too
