CFL Bulbs on UPS

AOA, i have encountered a strange problem from the last two days bulbs have been blowing up when on UPS/Backup mode ... i have a Chinese UPS and all connections etc are good ... i guess probably something has gone wrong with the UPS ... Did anyone face similar problem ?

Check your UPS output voltage for being in range.

Just checked the faulty CFL .. filter capacitor at input of bulb blown and it says 400 volts so definately over voltage

BTW How to attach pictures from phone ???

on backup mode ups gives 180 volts without load and 200 with load ... previously it was 235 240 V ... i gues the Mosfets have gone bad ...

yes! it seems thy had blown up cuz ov voltage factor ............

i checked my UPS yesterday ... made few observations ...i didn't have a true RMS multimeter so i was getting a false reading ... theres nothing wrong with the UPS

...

The recent power outages may be the reason ???

What kind of output does that your UPS have? Is it square wave, modified sine wave or sine wave?

I suspect your UPS is square wave type and because of that, it is blowing up your CFL lamps.

modified sinewave ... working perfectly for almost 2 years ...
