Buying a used iphone, any tips on what to check before buying?

its a iphone 3g 8gb, the condition looks good, no visible scratches. and the buyer is asking for 20k, any suggestions on what i should check on the phone before forking over the cash?

thanks

check

firmware

available accessories

max sound

max brightness

wifi

other than that I guess its a good buy, but I still think it could have been cheaper.

1) Most Important is Battery Life

2) Charger + Hands Free must be original

3) LCD (check on full white) There should be no dead pixels.

4) Call Quality (after all you are buying a phone)

Do you like iPhone ? I would never buy 3G, instead if I must buy Apple, I would go for 3GS.

As a side note, please consider an Android phone as well.

You can not actually get an assurance once you buy used phones. That is why it is required to consider some important notice to prevent a mistake. Those tips are helpful enough though iphone was durable, I still want those used android more reliable.
