i want some awesome VPS provider...

which has good rates and allows custom vps packages... and off course it shud also have awesome service and good repu around...

and price range is 20$ maximum...

#2

I love serverpoint. but they are too costly in market.

#3

I have a 512mb VPS with http://rubyringtech.com

No problems in the first 3 months for me.

Am not sure if they offer custom vps packages.....

#4

ok. btw guys how do these vps providers define bandwidth usage??

all the traffic of vps?

incomming outgoing admin ftp blah blah?

n we can do any thing on vps i mean we can run heavy processes? right?

#5

and guys wich linux os is most user friendly....

i m a linux noob n i wana use the vps via vnc rather than ssh...

so tell me wich linux os is most easy to use...

#6

I know nothing about linux either although I do intend to play around with it starting from next month when I get free time, thats the reason I got a vps in the first place.....

At the start, I had the host install CentOS so that virtualmin (webmin) control panel could be installed. So all I did was add my couple of domains in the webmin control panel. My sites run wordpress, nothing special.......

I don't keep track of bandwidth but I would think that all the bandwidth(traffic, email, admin, ftp) would be counted.

#7

steadfast.net had best vps 99.9 % uptime as well good bandwidth

option 2 slicehost.com

Its calculated at network level , so yes all traffic ftp, smtp etc , even a dos or udp flood.

For processes it depends on your plan, each plan would be able to burst to certain level, if you go for some provider with OpenVZ or Virtouzzo then you can burst the cpu , atleast one core to the fullest , more dependings on how admins have it configured, but if you are using very high cpu they will contact you to either fix the usage or upgrade to higher plan.

If you go for some provider with Xen based servers, then the resource isolation is better in that case and for both ram and cpu you would not be able to burst much of the node resources beyond your vps limits.

For what purpose you will be using the VPS ? , if for web hosting then go for CentoS for sure, nothing is better than that for hosting environment. Easy installations, package avaiability etc.

well i m gona be using the VPS for processing files...

like raring them and uploading them to different file hosts...

offcourse illegal movie files :P

so i want a host which wont monitor whatever the f*ck i m doing and mind their own business as long as i dont serve the files from that server...

i am also planning to launch a warez linking site..

i hav seen many such warez linking including warez-bay.com which is hosted in USA http://whois.domaintools.com/warez-bay.com

so i m thinking of a usa based company which is crowded by clients and they dont have time to sneak in to everyones server and see what everyone is doing... and i can get good rates from them too...

i have come accross these companies which are offering very cheap rates..

http://www.enotchnetworks.com/site/vps

https://www.burst.net/linvps.shtml

http://delimiter.us/

http://actservers.com.au/

i m looking for a 30 gb hard , atleast 256 mb ram and unmetered 10-15mbps or about 1500GBs bw... i m also thinking of FDC servers too as they are pretty big company with alot of clients...

#11

They don’t look in to every VPS until they get report for some specific one. And ofcourse you can store what ever you want (is not visible). but you can not use pirated stuff to serve the users.

You got to pay for licenses for using a Windows operation system, or to install SQL Server, or Coldfusion. etc… You can not use them to host a website without holding a proper license. They will suspend you if you are found in such a case.

Besides that you have to read the terms of the provider if you are allowed or not to host a warez like website. however storing such things for your own use doesn’t matter I guess because they don’t put their eyes steady on every server, they only monitor on a report.

everyone tells in their TOS that all such things are illegal.. but alot just allow them .... until they get some real DMCA notices...

they just simply remove the site or pages infringing tos and their TOS saves them from any legal actions cuz they have stated clearly in their TOS that such things are not allowed..

Man i was thinking to do the same.

One more thing

Which file hosting service are you using. I have a hotfile account and it deletes warez as soon as it is reported. Any other option.
