Best USB modem?

hey guys which is the best USB modem

i m about to get dsl and dont have a UPS

so i though that i cud use a USB modem with laptop

to stay connected 24/7 so which is the best one?

price is not a issue as long as its less than rs 5000

and one that works under linux

Compatibility with Linux is the real problem. Why not use ethernet?

as i said in my original post power in my area is not to reliable so with a USB modem i will be able to power it with my laptop

and have 24/7 access

dere are USB modem's but i dont think that they take power from USB...plus if deres anything like that its gonna discharge ur laptop battery pretty fast...u got a gud budget y dont yew get urself APC 500VA UPS (4000rs at metro)

i have the same pro as yew and will be getting that UPS soon...

i dont want the ones that have a USB interface but i guess u are right then i will just get an ethernet modem

btw how long will this UPS u are mentioning last with a single modem n router on it?

You can make a circuit to run your router even when electricity is gone using 12V batteries.

and also how long will this circuit last can it atleast last an hour

College road. Wear your cheapest suit. Bonus points if it is torn from some place. Make a maskeen shakal so that they don’t rip you off.

I will try making that circuit when I get some free time after my current project.
