There are some issues with Avast AV, it somehow messes with your digital content delivery systems and interrupts the downloads every now and then. I've noticed this anomaly in pretty much all antivirus solutions. This problem is most evident in Steam, Origin, Uplay, though Origin seems the worst hit of the 3. Once I removed all traces of the Avast AV, the problem went away. It was one of the main reasons why I switched back to MSE, despite it being just borderline security compared to the rest. But ever since my switch to the legit scene, I've rarely felt a need to crack a game much less download it.
The current AV scenario doesn't favor power users at all. It stereotypes all of its users as stupid people who are incapable of setting up their own preferences. What I want in an AV:
1. Ability to completely shut down the AV service, so it no longer interferes with my online gaming & downloads/ updates going on.
2. Ability to ignore/ hide random alerts/ notifications unless absolutely necessary (in case of an infection for example)
3. Just stick to what its meant to do, stop spamming/ advertising your paid products. If I had wanted one, I'd never bother with the free version now would I ?
4. Strip away the bloat. We don't neeed a million different scanners for the same thing.
