Does anyone know how to set up a blog aggregator?

Well it can be done with wordpress ( a bit of customization required in terms of theme) , there is a plugin which automatically get new posts from the rss feeds you put in the settings of it

^No Idea About Blogger!

IMO if you are really into it (i mean you are serious) then hire a developer/designer and get made a custom theme for wordpress and get it customized the way you want

but you yourself can do it too but you will have to customize a theme to make it look/work like a blog aggregator

Wordpress is the Best for this!

can Some other guy who has some experience guide him?

Oh yeah i saw some site using a pre made blog aggregator but i dont remember which one

Thanks guys, I guess I can customize word press just haven't played around with it yet. Let me explain what I'm looking for, I have a pretty decent domain which I want to start using, to generate some income. Its a niche subject and an aggregator for it should work good, but I have no idea as to what it would cost to set it up in terms of development and hosting etc. that's why I came here looking for answers.

Ok a few things for you to consider.

Firstly with regard to monetization of your aggregator site you should know that adsense does NOT allow you to place their ads on aggregators. This is because you will not have original content of your own but will be displaying the posts of other websites.

Second there are various scripts for making aggregators:

Drupal module: Ok I am in love with the Drupal CMS (www.drupal.org). Been using it for a lot of my sites in recent weeks and I really like the flexibility of the script. The default installation of drupal comes with an aggregator module. You just have to enable the module in the admin suite and then make the /aggregator page as you sites home page on /admin/settings/site-information.

http://gregarius.net/ - It is a feed reader that you can customize to become a blog aggregator (just customize the template). It generates pages of content from aggregated feeds. SEO friendly.

http://www.planetplanet.org/ I think bloggers.pk uses this script. Its pretty minimalistic which looks very interesting to me. Minimalistic scripts tend to be fast and robust not to mention flexible. Unfortunately its written in python which is not a language I know.

http://www.feedjack.org/

http://projects.radgeek.com/feedwordpress/ - I don’t like wordpress so this is why this plugin is last on my list. Its decent enough but generates various error messages in the backend. Easiest to use but not compatible with WP 2.6. Sri lankan blog aggregator kottu.org uses this script.

Well then they are taking a big risk. From what I have read on forums.digitalpoint.com and other webmaster forums adsense does not allow aggregators and autoblog type sites because they fall under the category of Made For Adsense sites. MFA sites are those sites that have mostly duplicate content. I have heard that MFA site owners eventually get banned from adsense.
