9600gso?

#1

huh.....tired of palyin games on 8600gt ddr2 512mb so i m planning to buy 9600gso 384mb 192bits ddr3........how is that????one more problem it requires pCI-E 2.0 I do have PCI E but how do i knw it is PCI E or PCI E 2.0????

my board model is MSIP4M900M2-L..........help me guys

#2

plz reply.,,,,,,,,,,,,

#3

Your board doesn't have PCI-E 2.0 I think but PCI-E 2.0 is backward compatible and thus you shouldn't have a problem installing this card.

I have this card and it's pretty good budget card. Crysis works good at high-settings. :)

#4

agree with asad it is backward compatible

its a good card...i plan to upgrade myself to this one,,definately better then 8600 gt ddr 2

for future....just avoid anything with ddr 2,

#5

i think i know much better Card then 96gso . 1st u tell about your budget ?

#6

budget is maximum 9000rs.........well guys let me know the difference of performance for pci e 2.0 and pci e x16.......i think i hav an pci e x16 slot on my mainboard so putting a card of pci e2.0 like 9600gso on an x16 slot will not fully utilize the card means card will not perform well as it is supposed to be......m i right?? secondly i hav a psu stated 400watt on the top but i m not sure whether it is 400watt or lower is there any way to knw the psu actuall watt???? lastly i dont hav a 6pin connector in my psu and 9600gso required a 6 pin connector....wht to do in this regard??????

#7

wait wait buddy ... Relax :)

PCI x16 = Slot Speed

PCI-E 1.1 = Slot Version

PCI-E 2.0 = Slot Version

16x is the speed of your PCI Express Slot and Your slot has Version 1.1 . But You can Run PCI Express 2.0 Version Graphic Cards on Your PCI Express 1.1 . Clear ? :)

And if u can Increase Your Budget .. You can buy a Ati Radeon 3870 . which is more power full and much stronger then 9600GSO ;) . just add 2,100 Rupees mOre :) (in KARACHI)

400 Watt is Enough for 9600 GSO if u have GENIUN 400 Watt :) and your system has Low Power Eating Hardware ;) . but if your Using a Complete CPU Like

775 Pin Processor , Full Mobo , 2 Cd rom , 2 HD , many USB Resources ... etc. Then You Have to Buy minium 460 Watt of PSU.

Btw i Recommend that you buy a 500 watt or Better PSU for your System and Card.

ThanK You :)

what is the Price of Ati Radeon HD 3850 in Isloo ? :o

it is also Better then 9600 GSO .

#9

I've also heard very nice things about 9600gso like it has best price to performance ratio, don't know about 3850. Anyway i'm getting a 8600gt fatality 256mb from a guy, what i wanna know that how's this card? and what about it's price now days?

#10

well striker u didnt tell abt the performance of pci e 2.0 card on pci e 1.1 slot..will the performance of this card be same on both slots like 1.1 n 2.0??

secondly wat to do with a 6 pin connector issue as i dont hav one in my psu???????

my system specification

core 2 duo e4500 2.2ghz

1 sata 250gb HDD

1 DvD Rom

19inch dell monitor

now wat abt a 400watt psu with this system and ofcourse adding a card like 9600gso....remember currently running 8600gt on it but quiet low performance

#11

has any1 bought 9600GSO so far?

i have 45nm processor E8400

1HDD sata 2

no cd/dvd drive

DG31PR

kingston 800mhz 1GB ram

350 watt gumnaam power supply

22" LCD attached directly to electric power {power supply inlet is not being used for that}

may i have this card?

as far as i know, from vendor's site, i cant go beyond XFX 8600Gt; not even 8800GT

#12

if so then do change ur power supply instead of buyin damn 8600gt.....i recommend u never go for 8600gt as i m a victim of it.............

You can Buy a 6 Pin Connector from any Computer shop . it is Convertable and Easily Fixed on your Current PSU ;) .

well in this Case (system spec’s) i don think that 400watt PSU is enough for u :/.

U HAVE TO BUY a 460 watt PSU (latest) . it is minium Requirement of 96GSO (i think) but again i recommend that buy a 500 watt psu or better . (Corsair Rocks)

what about Radeon 3850 Price in Isb ? :o

Radeon 3850 is much much better then 96GSO in Price n Perfomance Ratio Here in Karachi . but most of tha ppl don know about it  .

btw 86GT Fatality Edition is a Beautiful Card but there is no such Differnce in Generic 86GT and Fatility Edition . Fatility has just a little more Core Clock and Memory Speed then normal 86GT :) . You can Make your Generic 86GT to a Fatality Edition after OC of 100 to 150 Core n memory Clocks ;) .

it is a Very Good and Low Budget Card . Enough till 2009 i think :D .

86GT is abt 5800 on Galaxy.pk so Fatility Edition is around 6500 to 7000 i think (new) . bCoz its an OC Edition of Generic 8600 GT :)

350 watt is not enough for your Current System. so far to add 96GSO on this psu :P .

Buy a 460watt psu Branded (not china) . then add 9600GSO to your current reg ;)

#16

well wht are the prices of 460watt and 500watt power supply?????

#17

i am an occasional gamer. once in a blue moon, i get a chance to play for a few hrs. i was counting upon my PSU for a better card than the 8600GT. however, as far as my budget is concerned, seems that 8600GT would be wiser choice. Cant afford PSU cost right now :)

i shall be glad if i can get something close to 8600 GT with a nominal price increase. Running a Google search revealed that its competitors like Radeon 2600xt and 3650 HD Radeon are not worth it when it comes to AA.

Thanks every one for pieces of advice. I shall remember these till start of 2009. I expect to have enough amount till then.....

You did not buy a real 400watt power supply. Try coolermaster next time.
