4mb dsl connection zero connectivity

Can anyone help me with this , I have 4mb dsl connection and since last month, it's getting me around 10-30 kbps download speed , i have been told by the helpline that i have high snr or attenuation noise etc, but no one has contacted since then

i keep changing some settings like ( outer pair from Inner pair ) which at times give me more speed and recently checked ADSL2+ Enabled in modulation.

I am using kasda kw5815u2 modem, The last time a person came to fix the model told me that my line settings were not correct (copper or fiber something) i know that i am not using fiber optic but he said enter fiber settings , i can see the usual telephone line coming through pool to my room.

So if anyone can help me with the settings , or anything i'd be thankful, i have changed the splitter and there's no joint in the cable too.

HELP!

Send a tweet to @PTCLCares

how will it help?

By fibre line, PTCL means a copper wire connected to your home which is connected to the underground fiber optic cable from the base of the pole onwards. Go to the exchange, pay Rs 500 charges for the change, locate the lineman and have him do it. It will reduce or eliminate line noise.

@humza8b:

Wow. Your stats are abysmal. You are getting dial-

up speed for the price of 4MB. I am surprised

you are getting 30kpbs, like you say you do, with

the line quality that you have here.

You need major help.

Get a print out of your stats. Write an application

to the DSL manager at your exchange, explaining

your predicament in clear & concise form, and make

two copies. Hand it in personally and get your copy

'received' (stamped and signed) by the manager

or his PA, so you have a paper trail. Tell him to sort

out your problem, or else you will take up the matter

with the PTA.

You are throwing good money down the drain right

now. It's time to kick serious butt.

Sheikh 'Hai Ye Pasmandagi' Chilli

yes that's what i was thinking, i need to visit the exchange, but are you sure it will sort this problem out?

the last time i remember i had this problem like two years back i had to cut all the telephone lines of my neighbors and other houses which were passing by my house :D so I could track the lineman down

@humza8b:

The lineman is officially responsible for the line up

to the pole. Some will also enter the home on request

and look at the outside DB. But they have no training

nor should they ever be allowed inside, to fix your BB

issue. That's for the PTCL BBand department.

Visit your exchange. Find out who is in-charge, the

official responsible. Track him down. Show him the

Screenshot of your modem's stats. Explain your ordeal

clearly and have him receive your application.

Oh, and dress properly. Like you are at a job interview.

You mean business. I am sure it will be sorted out in a

timely fashion.

Answer some of following questions:

what is approximate distance of telephone exchange from your house?

you are using fiber or Copper Line?

since when you upgraded to 4Mbps and when you started facing this problem?

when you complained what was their answer to you problem and did you try to get your line checked if it is joint free and checked your DP as well by help of "Lineman"??

as you’re from lahore too , i live at model town link road, and my exchange is garden town…i think that makes around 6 kms

and yes it’s fiber,

i always had 4mb connection . since 6 years

the complain is always returned by 'they will send some technical staff to visit the issue or something’

yes it’s joint free, and there’s no distortion in my line too, checked by lineman

^&@ sheikh chilli, it’s been raining so they had their excuse, i hope it will be fixed after eid holidays

thanks both of you

As far my DSL company experience you are lucky if you were getting 4 MB DSL services from last 6 years without any issue Model town ext is worst area for DSL services so sadly i think you need to get alternate internet or try you luck .. :)
