Dr. Shahid Masood injected an interesting twist to the

latest developments regarding the postponement of the

DTH bidding process.

In last night's show (Tuesday, Dec 8th, 2015) on News-1

he claims to have talked to a cable mogul in india the other

day who told him that TATA was going to enter the bidding

of DTH licenses in Pakistan, through a front company. And

that the son of Shahbaz Sharif had already visited india to

sign a MoU with TATA, to that end. TATA would also supply

the DTH hardware to Pakistani customers.

This is just an extension of rumours flying around that NS

is going to sell Pakistan Steel Mills to india's steel magnate

Mithal, through another front company. Likewise, with PIA.

I am wondering if they will introduce content in just HD or 4K too. Anyone have any information about that?

4K/UHD TVs are useless without 4K content availability.

HD: I would assume so, because they’ll have to compete (and also, there really shouldn’t be any technological limitation either), but for 4K? Not really worth it, because there really isn’t a lot of content available in the world that’s 4K… Nor are there any economical 4K TVs either.

New Date of Auction…?

#33

Are they going to delay and make a fking mess out of it just like they did with 4G? Fking bunch of sh-t eating b@stards sitting in Pemra and Telecommunication. Wake up you fking pathetic morons and see where the world is heading to.

#34

New auction date is 23rd November. I hope auction does take place this time.

#35

Just saw this on TV tonight.

Cable operators in all provinces are taking out rallies,
giving dharnas and calling press conferences in order
to pressurize PEMRA into postponing the sale of DTH
for another 3-5 years.

They say they have invested in hardware equipment
and now, this new technology is going to make them
irrelevant.

PiA union mafia
cable association mafia
young doctors mafia
police mafia
bhata mafia
what else?

Well, here in Karachi, WorldCall has shut down it’s cable TV
services for nearly 12 hours now and counting. I guess this
is their way of showing their muscle and ‘protesting’ the now
imminent DTH going online (bidding scheduled for Nov 23rd).

With this attitude, it certainly will not help their case. Now
they have a whole lotta peeved customers who are ready to
ditch these temperamental crybaby Luddites, as soon as
DTH becomes available.

Plus cable quality is pathetic only first 50-60 channels are harldly clear and rest distorted. Upon complain they treat you like you are using services freely… Glad to hear their days have been counted.

Old time was really golden when there was only PTV
